I took Dr. Redden's class back in Fall 2010 and never rated him so I will do it now. I remember he was a really great guy and was very helpful. I would go to office hours for homework all the time and he would be really helpful. He is a really nice and guy and never makes anyone feel like an idiot, because looking back at it now, I asked some idiotic questions. One negative I do have about him is that he lectures you on the material that will be on the homework but he only proves the theorems you need to use for the homework. He doesn't show you how to apply those theorems though. The book is really bad so you do rely quite a bit on his lecture notes. However, 309 was a weeder class and after taking other classes, Dr. Redden has prepared me enough for other classes so I do appreciate that about him. He also posts answers to the homework so it is really helpful.

Great math prof! He goes out of his way to make sure the class understands. We spent 2 extra days covering one topic because no one understood. He also holds reviews before exams, and is willing to meet outside his office hours if needed. You can tell he really wants to help you succeed in his class. Great with explanations as well! Great Prof hands down!!

Dr. Redden is one of the best profs I've had at MSU. He explains everything very well and is an incredibly nice guy! If you do not understand anything he will without a doubt take the time to help you out during his office hours or if you schedule a meeting with him.

Best math I've ever had. He's young and understands how to speak to a college crowd. A lot of the math dept. teachers are older and don't quite know how to connect with everyone, but he totally gets it. His explanations are good and its really easy to follow all of his work/notes/examples on the board. He made calc 234 and enjoyable class. I had to take this class twice, and I'm very glad I ended up with him the 2nd time around.

Dr. Redden was hands down one of the best math teachers I've ever had, and definitely the best I've had in college.
He explains EVERYTHING in his lectures, and the way he organizes his notes make it so you can just copy down everything he puts on the board and never find yourself lost.
He made calc3 easy, I 4.0'd the class without a problem just because of how well he taught it. Not to mention if a test is to hard or long he will put a nice curve on it. Great guy, lectures aren't boring.
